Title: Nozzles
Post by: tmichaud on March 20, 2008, 07:29:58 am
What is the recommended nozzles / injectors to put as an upgrade for a 1996  Golf TD?

The car is stock, with about 250k on the clock.  Looking to freshen them up to get the best mileage, and a bit of a boost in power is always nice  :)

Merc tips have been used with good results.
Quite a few guys have posted the GTD nozzles did nothing notable.

I'm running CASE nozzles, talk about dumping the fuel in.

I just bought some complete injectors from prothe with merc tips and set @ 155bar.

I'm going to have to hit him up for a kick back I've recommended his parts so freakin many times now  8)

Great link and info.

With those injectors, would there be much more smoke?

any worry about running much hotter?  I don't have an egt gauge yet.

If you add more fuel your going to run hotter.

Better get a gauge so you dont melt you pistons.

As far as smoke goes I cant tell ya I dont have mine yet.
The CASE nozzles I'm running will smoke like a freight train, I dont like it much. Lots of unburnt fuel and it really messes up the back of the car (yuck).
