That all depends on the blend of bio you are running, most places I fuel up are running a small blend out of the pump 2-5% with no mods needed.
If you are talking about running b100 (100% bio), the only thing I can think of would be running synthetic fuel lines, but I am not sure about that, I know that gassers running e85 have to because ethanol eats rubber lines with time.
If I remeber correctly, you should be able to run bio with no changes, SVO, or WVO would require a secondary fueling system with fuel solenoids to switch back and forth when the car warms up and before the car is parked again.

Probably nothing with a low percentage. Biofuel will eat rubber. Fuel lines, IP seals, etc. I hear that Viton fuel line is the way to go although expensive. I also hear that poly tubing works well at a much lower cost.
I want to make my own bio and change all the rubber parts but right now at 4 bucks a gallon for diesel, where im at, and me making it at 3 bucks a gallon isnt worth it. If anyone knows a good place in CA to get Methanol CHEAP let me know.
If you went straight veg oil then you would want to do a two tank system and switch off like the post before me. Or you can get a bigger IP and bigger injectors and run it straight in one tank at not freezing b@lls temperatures(or so i hear).

all you have to do is buy vition hose for the fuel system. I been running B100 in my 1983 Rabbit for a year and no problems. the car runs great but now I have to rebuit my injectior pump and have vition seal put in after that no more problem. hope this helps

I have my pump resealed with Viton in addition to all Viton fuel lines for running B50 and up.

Viton is a specific brand name of rubber. All modern fuel hoses will work fine with any amount of biodiesel.
Biodiesel does not need any modifications to use. WVO and SVO, besides being illegal, do require a two tank system to use and are not biodiesel.

the illegal is most likely from the state not getting their fuel tax or possibly emisions. It's all legal until you get caught :wink: :lol:

I've read above. i am in the process of sending out my pump to be rebuild on my mk3 golf. This is my commuter. My goal w/this car is to run a secondary tank of veg. Should I request specific seals or materials for the seals??? I'm a newbie to this and want to do it right the first time. Thanks in advance for any help.
