Title: lowering the compression
Post by: Benjamin on February 28, 2008, 07:37:15 am
Is it possible to lower the compression when you take out the glow plugs and screw in just a bolt?
how much should the CR lower?
not for daily use, it will start with 'start pilot'

I'm sure it would lower a little, but not very much. I think the best way to lower it would be take some off the pistons where they have already been machined.

how can you calculate the change in CR when you know how much cc diffrence the bolt instead of the glowplug is.

I've got specially machined bolts to replace my glowplugs to help with lowering compression.I'm guessing that my Cr is 18.5-17.5:1 now with the masive prechambers that are in my head.
