Looks good but makes me want to polish all the alloy bits like the inlet manifold, turbo compressor housing, heat shield, injection pump, alloy head, alternator and gearbox, which I cant be arsed to do.

I fancy enamelling the bits in the badge blue like this

Nice. I just picked up one of those. I hope to clean it up to look near that good. Probably not polished though.

Also, I don't think you need the little stamped steel strips under the nuts.

I've decided a polished rocker cover doesnt go with the rest of the car :?
But I got it thot cheap I should easily see a profit

So I'm fitting an standard g60 one as the breather on the 2.0 8v rocker cover is in the way of the intercooler pipework for the fmic I'm fitting.

Just need to give it a blast off with the steam pressure washer at work and if that doesn't work I have some ally cleaning acid

actually guys! the best way to go with a G60 valve cover is get the 1pc. rubber gasket and stud kit! dont use the metal strips! you don't need them!
you can use the 3 piece cork gasket? just get shouldered nuts! or use washers? or buy some fancy chrome nuts at a hardware store? thats what i did for my fully polished valve cover!
thanks Duane

Yes VW sell a kit to replace the cork gasket and shouldered studs
026 198 025 C
comprising of
1 Gasket 026 103 438 F
8 M6x20 studs N 101 863 01
4 m6x32 studs N 104 191 01

works out cheaper than buying them separately.

The shouldered nuts are
N 901 752 03 and you'll need 8 of them.

sigh......I wish someone made a nice cast cover to fit the AAZ. My ugly stock steel cover will be back from the powdercoater soon.

Fitted the g60 one today, needs a new gasket and studs and I'll just get nylocks from work, think I'll order a g60 breather box up at the same time, now I need to rotate the turbo so the compressor housing points down and route the boost pipe below the intake pipe to my fmic
