Title: Reman Bosch Starter- No need for bushing?
Post by: Jetta90GL on February 23, 2008, 10:16:17 am
Hello,

I have a 90 Jetta diesel, with a starter that grinds and does not engage.  I ordered a remanufactured bosch starter that I just got today.  I'm a little worried that they sent me the wrong starter, but it could be an updated version..  The model is a Bosch SR34X, but it is missing any sort of shaft that  rides in the bushing.  It just has a metal cap on the end of the gear.  The box  did come with a new bushing.  Sorry for the pics, they are from a picture phone.

Any thoughts on what this is?

i've been seeing more and more of that style of bosch starters. just slap it in, no need to worry about changing the starter bushing.
