Title: 6 piece thrust bearing question

I bought a set of Mahle main bearings.They have the integral,2 piece thrust w/copper strip.Are the one with the copper any better?I heard it was just the US made bearings that failed.Is there anywhere to buy one bearing?Seems someone could make a killing just selling "one" pair. :?
