actually i think the problem is that the mkII botton will hit the wheel well 'bubble' whereas the mkI has that part cut away. you could modify a mkII box to work i'm sure.

Post by: fatmobile on February 15, 2008, 11:20:58 pm: I put a digi II airbox, from a '90 Jetta, in a Rabbit, but had to cut a slot along the bottom to get it to sit over the raised pinchweld.

The carbed gasser Rabbits had th eairbox on that side and might have a few ports to plug but should work nicely.
