Title: another HG question

Im rebuilding a 1.6 and i have no reason to suspect its ever been opened since the manufacture.I came with a three notch HG.If everything in the bottom end stays the same,would it be safe to buy a aaz Metal HG w/3 notches?The blocks at the shop getting bored.I was just tring to order all my rebuild parts.Half of me wants to wait and measure,but would VW do me wrong?
