Title: 1,9TD head gasket?'s
Post by: Chuck on April 02, 2005, 12:25:15 am
Hi I have a 1.9 TD  but am confused it seems ( to my Mech) that it has a fiber gasket not steel. Should he retorqu ?  after run in?  how many miles?

This is a new engine ( but that's all I know)  it has not had the crank bolt upgrade.

AS to that how would I find the parts to do that Mod?  I am in CA .

OH and 1,6 injectors in a 1.9  how bad an idea is that? and it is a 1.6 IP

Lots of hodg pog parts  hope it's going to work.

Thanks

Chuck

According to the Bentley manual you don't retorque the bolts.

As for the crank bolt, go to the dealership...I'm sure they could locate one for you.  It's really cheap.  Torque is 66 ft lbs + 1/4 turn.  This bolt is no guarantee against crankshaft sprocket problems though.
