yes you heard me, i want to throw any diesel into my partner's 84  automatic chevy chevette!. i know they came with a diesel in the 80's but good luck finding one of those and even then, who wants a gm made diesel?

my brother has one, it's pretty good from what he tells me.

Get a VW engine, an ACME adapter plate and a toyota tranny (or whatever they use) Good to go.

The diesels use an Isuzu tranny so it will not bolt up to your gas tranny

i know a guy who had one.  he bought it from the states and drove it back here.  1.8L ISUZU diesel engine (non turbo)  it was okay and got pretty good mileage.

The isuzu's are pretty damn good motors. Take a real *** kicking. You can also find them in the S 10's as they were an option up to '87. The biggest pain is the tranny..finding one that is...
