anybody ever see or install a diesel into a fwd camry? either a toyota or vw engine?

Toyota did sell Camry and Corolla models from 84-86 with a 2.0L turbodiesel. (http://www.japanmoottorituonti.fi/pics/2ct.JPG)

Check with places that import engines from Japan. they might still be able to get them.

over here its full of them! but then again "over here" is near to the other side of the world  :wink: Jokes aside they are good engines, as reliable or even more than VW equivalent but from my personal experience they do like to drink diesel far more than the VW's... They were sed on other toyotas including some Corollas for the european market but most commonly were found on the Toyota Camry and Carina. They came with 2 turbo positions... one above the exhaust manifold and one below, not sure which is which tho but make sure you're getting the right one for your application!
