Can't help with the first, but I can dismount a tire from one of my spare snowflakes and weigh it if you'd like.

Looking at what a pothole did to mine at the top of Hardknott Pass, not heavy enough. It were mashed. :(

Weight != strength.

There are lots of really light wheels that are quite strong (usually forged) and lots of boat anchors that are really weak.
