I've looked at those also.

It has a probe with it already you just need to drill/tap your mani for it.

I was wondering about how fast it reacts.

Buy it will ya and report back?

well,i asked what as the difference in this kit and the other more expensive.
the seller answered this:
"This auction includes the same meter as the other auction. This auction has a very simple and basic sensor. The sensor is not specifically designed for EGT application. However, many people found it is adequate for the purpose for protecting the engine. The other kit has sensor that is specifically designed for EGT application. It has exposed tip that response faster than sealed tip, suitable for racing type application. In addition, it has box for the meter"

i am going to try this, lets see whats worth it...

I'm about 10 miles from that company.  I'll try to find some time to check them out for you.  I like the look of the unit because it's small, has peak recording, and a high level alarm.  This week is not looking good because of work, though.  Do you have a URL for the "other" kit with a proper probe?  When you look at their website, there is no mention of this probe not being the optimum one, but they do sell a clamp on probe.

Where would I get a "buzzard" for the alarm?  Is that related to a crow?  Ha ha...

well,i have made the payment so its late for sorrys
they said that for racing aplications the other sensor is better but just for regular use the one they sell as standard is ok.
hope shipping is fast and not get caught in customs...

I installed this digital gauge w/ the aircraft spruce 1/8 K type thermocoupler. It works great and very responsive. It even has a high temp recall button. I would recomend it.

I'm partial to analog type gauges as I can read them with my perifrial vision and get the information.

I don't know how I feel about buzzards being turned on when my temp is getting too high though.
Quote from ad: It will also close a relay output port that can be used to turn on a buzzard.

I bought two meters yesterday at Auber Instruments. The service and speed in the responce is very good!

I bought one meter for monitoring the EGT and the other for pressure measuring and intake air temperature.

I'll be buying mine once I get some cash.

What is everyone wiring their's into?  The same wiring as the radio, maybe?

I'm going to make complete new wiring to the measuring device. To the sensors are cables that come with the Temp / Pressure senders

I received my meters and also the EGT probe. The more expensive probe looks good.

Now I need to hook up the meters and install the EGT sensor and oil pressure sensor.

I was too cheap for the nice probe.  I'll probably buy one when I have more money.
