Title: Polyurethane Bushes
Post by: DonGTI on January 06, 2008, 12:24:03 pm
I just bought a complete polybush kit for my mk2 and was going to start replacing bits to-morrow esp the rear subframe and strut mounts because they're disintegrating. However as regards the front i'm getting a lot of warnings regarding overstiffening it and told me not to use the front srut tops, as well as the big round flat bushes (rear tca bush).

Jealousy from their part or genuine concern? i'm very unsure regarding overstiffening it for road use considering it is running standard poundage springs and slightly improved dampers/shocks front and rear

Thanks
Daniel

You may want to use the stock bushings on the rear axel:

very very interesting indeed! makes sense though... also explains why some people complain of wear and tear even when such wear is not supposed to be happening! thumbs up mate thanks
