Title: Drive shafts
Post by: gtigadge on December 31, 2007, 10:49:54 am
Probs the wrong section but after stripping my MF engined 16TD apart after suspected transmission failure (turns out the RH inner drive shaft CV is completely gone) I need some quick info on replacements.

I have been told two different things leaving me clueless, even more so than normal    One statement is that all the MK2 golf driveshafts are the same and the other that the spline size going into the hub is different for say mine to a GTI.

What shafts are interchangeable if any.  Car is MF engined as stated earlier, UK RHD 1990 mk2 golf so looking for a (drivers,UK) USA passenger side driveshaft, the fat long one  :D

Cheers
Gadge

Good enough for me mate, will do.  It was the splined drive to the hub I was unsure of aswell but should be easy enough to sort :D
