Title: NA pump on a TD motor
Post by: compu_85 on December 18, 2007, 07:49:15 pm
I need some advice...

I have a 1991 ECOdiesel. The OE pump was leaking so I swapped it out for one from a 1991 NA that had just had new seals put into it. I still have the ECOdiesel injectors.

What spec should I set the timing to? Is there an internal timing difference between the NA and TD pumps? When we put things back together (new belt and tensioner) I didn't have a dial gauge, but I do now. I have not checked the timing, and I'm getting 32-38 MPG :( FWIW the cat is no longer installed and the car seems to run good otherwise. I have hooked vacuum up to the ADA and power to the solenoid on the front of the pump.

TIA!

Yes, I have a K14. I'd love a TD pump, but I couldn't find one that wasn't super over priced at the time. Sending a PM now...
