Title: Buyers watch out for MK2FANATIC
Post by: 95gltd on December 18, 2007, 11:07:44 am
He jumped all over my wanted ad threw pm for a pump.

http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=11513&highlight=mk2fanatic

Supposed to have shipped friday 7th. I paid for 2 day shipping as i told him my car is down(daily) and needed the pump like yesterday.

When i contacted him last week he left his # to call him if it didn't show up by last friday. Called and left messages twice with callback numbers. He doesen't call or respond to pm's.

Glad i paid threw Mastercard and not money order as he sugested.  He seemed knowledgeable and helpful a shame that it went sour.

Got a pump last night from a local guy. Been without a daily for 3 weeks now

I've remained silent.  But I should share.  We PM'ed and made a deal on a turbo setup.  While I did receive most of my items.  The original payment and deal were made in August.  I JUST got the remainder of my items last week.  Communication was poor IMHO.  I had to push to get anything back out of them.  Promises weren't kept.  But I'm satisfied to at least get my items.  But having to wait 4 months for it is extreme.  From what I'm told, canadapost caused my grief.  Although I doubt that was the cause.  Supposedly both items were shipped fedex.  But returned due to an oil leak.  Then shipped strapped together, but only one box made it here. [interestingly the one item that made it here had a shipping weight for only the package, although the second box weighed much more.  And there was only one tracking number HMMMM] Then it was "lost" for a while and then found.  Finally shipped to me.

I got most of what I paid for.  But I can't recommend or say I'd purchase another thing from him.  I'm done with trying to get anywhere else with it.  Makes me leary of dealing outside the US anymore.

I'd like to add that I've shipped well over 100 items to the USA over the last 5 or so years and have never once had a problem. Usually around Christmas and the New year shipping is a bit slower but it's usually pretty close to the 8-12 business days that I'm quoted.

I always ship expedited though so that does speed up the process

Looks like I may be in the same boat? And I agree...seemed to be fairly knowledgable, etc. Makes me leary as well and I've done quite a bit of business across the border... :(

I'm awaiting his tnumber today...I gave him today to provide it to me...otherwise, I go to paypal to settle the dispute...and especially after seeing others on here have had problems.

Don't wait for him call your cc company. i hope you paid by paypal threw a cc. Otherwise he probably just emptied his paypal account and paypal will say sorry we can't recoup any money.

he even asked for pics to be sure the correct snout length of my pump. I sent him the pic and he said ok got it. The next night a pm saying he got the pump off and was shipping it out. I got 1 more pm after that after me asking about shipping. he said if i don't get it in xx days call his cel #. Did that and he didn't return calls and he never picked up.

If something goes sour with mastercard(can't see how) my cousin lives only a 1 hour drive. A big redheaded redneck with a short fuse.

I think the mods should take out the BAN STICK for this chump.

It was paid through paypal buyer credit, so it shouldn't be too hard if i need to go that route. I'm just nervous at this point.

I have it as well...i called, left message...he didn't call me back. I received an email on the day after...

I have also gone ahead and for my own protection gone ahead and opened a case with paypal in their dispute console. I recommend anyone else that has had a problem to do so as well for your own safety.

I'm going to let the mods know as well.

Can we have a vote to ban this chump. Not just his username but an IP address ban.

I've asked the mods for considering at the very least some sort of buyer/seller feedback STICKY thread maybe in both the classifieds section as well as the vendors area. I think it would be nice to post positive/negative feedback (as it pertains to this subject) almost sort of like you can on Ebay...

I don't know.

On another note. Slyvester did take the time to contact me just now (via phone)  and provided me with a Canadapost tnumber and is going to be forwarding on the tracking number and a picture of the invoice as well (via email). Supposedly the package has gone out today and will arrive within 7-10 days. So again...I don't want to drag anyones name through the mud...just try and find positive resolution (and/or restititution if the situation called for it).

I agree with what you've said.  But it's been a far to long and took way to many calls from me to get anywhere.  4 months is unacceptable for shipping something.  Even with all the "problems".

I agree...I'm just posting my experience and def. relating to what you are saying. Only keeping the thread updated...

he obviously doesn't give a flying F%^# as i told him i needed it asap, he had no problem charging me for the 2 day shipping price. If it shows up i'm just going to refuse it.

I've bought and sold for about $7,000 on a mustang board and anybody that does business like Sly gets black balled.

Besides the missing parts, I was told I'd get a $50 refund in a money order.  Never got that either.

I doubt he has been banned yet, I need to contact marc regarding that...though, I know how I feel about it.

As far as resolution....Paypal did come through and a chargeback was issued. I confirmed it as of Sat.
Though, on the downside....I have to still re-source all of the parts and probably will push the project into summer for completion...I spent alot of energy on this and need some time to think about things and how I want to do them. Needless to say, I'm doing a nice R&R on my mtb at the moment which is more enjoyable to me given the currrent/last situation here. I decided actually that a few of the projects will need to wait....thats another thread though....

If you want to follow up with what I said on Illicit, here it is..

http://illicitvw.com/site/viewtopic.php?t=4524

For some reason that was never really explained to me, the initial thread I opened with all of the detailed info I entered was locked...not sure why...not too sure if it matters at this point. Slyvester himself actually posted to the "new" thread...if you want to call it that.

So...there it is...
