Title: new 1.6 injectors and nozzles in 1.9 aaz - OK?
Post by: ricosuave on December 01, 2007, 04:01:14 pm
the search function didn't help me out, need an answer fairly soon...

thinking of replacing my stock aaz 1.9 injectors with a set of 1.6 ones, they have KCA30S36/4 stamped on them and are bosch remanufactured...

any insight would be helpful - will i have any issues?

The 1.9 lines won't fit properly. The 1.9 injectors are 2 stage and have longer bodies to house the 2 spring mechanism, the 1.6 injectors are about 3/4" (20mm) shorter. You can bend the 1.9 lines to fit but there is some risk of the lines cracking. I think a set of 1.6 lines will fit, but they'll still require some bending, less than the 1.9 lines though.

I don't forsee any issues with using single spring nozzles, maybe a slight increase in engine noise.

No need to scrap the plan, the 1.9 lines are just difficult to fit with short injectors. Just get a set of 1.6 lines and use them, they require some tweaking but not as major as the 1.9 lines.
