Post by: Cheesetoast on November 25, 2007, 11:06:51 pm
93 golf td, when i'm in gear and i let off the gas and let on again, the car jolts quite a bit, like the engine is rocking, is there any way to fix this? the front lower engine mount is poly, brackets ok.

CV joints? These can cause a huge amount of play in the drivetrain. I recently put a TD in my Scirocco and noticed a huge amount of drivetrain play. Due to the trans that I used, I grabbed a set of what I felt like good axles. Super sloppy play after the install. Checked the axles a couple of days ago and they are in dire need of joints. Anyone have a 7A trans for sale?

hmm, cv's were done about 15,000km ago.  Only thing that's been done recently is the transmission has been changed to 02a, i think it wasn't this bad before then.  Doesn't look like i've done the rear motor mount in my records.
