Title: mkII / MkIII 4x100 orlandos with NEW 185/70/14 BFG touring
Post by: windex on November 24, 2007, 04:57:03 am
So... I totalled my 96 golf TD last week  :(

...Two days after I installed 185/70/14 BFG premier touring tires on my rims.  I have since bought a mkIV to replace it (TDi), so they no longer fit.

These tires were bought specifically with the TD in mind, as the 185/70r14 bring the rpms down about 250rpm on the highway compared to the stock 185 60 14's.  They are approximately 6% taller than stock, and in my case brought my speedo to 1kph under (100kph actual - 99 indicated) as verified by my GPS.

The 185's are nice and narrow for low rolling resistance and cutting through the snow - a good compromise for a TD in Southern Ont.

They fit in my mk III with no rubbing (stock suspension)

I am looking to get $400 for them, given that I paid $150 for the rims, and $450 for the tires (which still have the nubs) - but am open to offers...

Rims&tires are located in Scarborough, and I can meet in a reasonable distance in the GTA.
