Title: Where can I find the top door seals for my 86 Golf 4 dr??

I'm trying to find the seal that goes along the top of the doors along both sides of the car. It is one long strip. I haven't seen them anywhere. Any ideas?

It's part of the rain gutter. Dealer has them but, I hear they are $300. They sometimes pop up on ebay, really often on the vortex, or if you read your Bentley and are careful, you can get them out of a junker. Whenever I go to the pick-n-pull I practice on one or two cars if I have the time.

Yep. If they're still available at the dealer, it's gonna cost you about $150-300 each. In the northeast, they fare much better than here in the south (less heat). I'd pull some for you from my local Pick-n-part, but they're probably as bad as yours, and shipping would be steep. Removal and installation isn't too bad once you find some. Just be thankful you don't have a Jetta Coupe. Those rain gutters are imposssible to find.

I'm in S.C. if you ever come across some for the 4-door Golf. Its now my everyday driver. Besides the rain gutters, I need an inside light and a tach that will work with my diesel. 8)

Tach is a toughie. That one on ebay this past week went for $185! They're pretty rare. You may have better luck hitting up the Canadians. More turbo diesel Jettas (early 1985-1987) with the tach were sold there than here in the US.

I'll keep my eyes open on the golf rain gutters. I'm in TN, and I troll the j-yards frequently.

Thank You. I was hitting the junkyards around here today. No VW's :cry: But I did find a new original dome light on ebay. 8) Will a 85 Quantum speedo work in a Golf?
