Title: Bumper differences?
Post by: subsonic on November 17, 2007, 08:03:51 am
What the heck is the difference between regular bumpers and "big" bumpers?  Anyone have photos of the difference?  What is the benefit of the big bumpers?  Is it just for looks or does it offer some sort of areodynamic advantage?  Does the big bumber setup allow for more room for a FMIC? :?

Yes, a Big Bumper car will give you more room for a FMIC. Small Bumpers are on 85-89 cars and Bigs 90-92. They swap back and forth along with the trim that goes with it on the side of the car. Big bumper will give a tad more aerodynamics. I was going to put the big bumpers on the 91 on my 89 but, the small grew on me so I am leaving it as is. I kind of figured less plastics for dirt and moisture to get behind and cause rust too. Also over on the tex it seems everybody has bigs. Oh, and less stuff to catch on parking curbs
