like the add says i'm looking for small assortment of injector shims like 10 of each size! all the local injection shops want to sell me 50 of each size and that way to much and at the cost of 500 bucks for them! if anybody gots a small quanity or would like to split a large set of shims let me know?

what kind of material are the shims made of? regular steel? heat treated steel? coated???
maybe some machine shop could make you some for relatively cheap...

I've been told that there is a shim punch tool to make shims for injectors!
does anyone know who makes this tool and where i and sure others would like to find it also? anybody know? because i can find the shim stock!
how about are friends over the pond?

I seem to remember reading something about them being hardened.
I'd be in for a set of shims. How many shim sizes are there?

There are 30 sizes - they range from 2.85 mm to 4.30 mm in .05 increments
most cost about 1.50 each (from me anyway), some are in short supply.
IIRC they are hardened, they do get pretty high shear forces acting on them.
I have very rarely seen them near the extreme sizes (under 3mm or over 4mm). The only way I could imagine you would need extreme sizes would be because a head re builder either failed to grind the stem to the proper length for seat depth during a valve job (you'd end up with very thin shims) or they took alot off the stem (you'd end up with thick ones).
A whole kit including 5 each of 24 sizes 3.05-4.20mm, totaling 120 Shims in a divided box costs about 175 bucks through my supplier.

as far as i can tell! but i don't know for sure? there is 20 different sizes.
Tintin sent me a link to a supplyer but i can't read it? try WWW.DIESELSEND.DE maybe one of you guys can translate the site?
let us know what it says? and i'm still trying to find a tool to make these shims because i think thats the best way to go? so if anyone knows where to look? or knows someone that can make a custom tool to do this! let me know?
