Just wondering if the aaz engines use the cable shift trans or did they continue with the linkage for awhile? or did all a3 use cable shift?
-
Mine is a 95 but built in 94...and it uses the linkage!! not cable!! only the vr6 came with a cable in the mk3's iirc!!!
cheers, Michal
-
sounds good, thank you
-
No cable till TDI.
-
96 MKIII golf here, linkage as well...
-
i believe all the passat's from 93 up are cable
-
My 93 Passat AAZ is cable.
-
All Passats 3/88-96 are cable
-
That's a strange statement, because I have a tranny from a 1996 Passat and it's linkage. :?
-
Just to clear things up the passat with AAZ or TDI all had cable shift trans. The diesel MK3 Jetta only got cable shift trans with the TDI 97.5-99.

did the trans come out of a 2l ABA passat. I've seen a couple of those with the linkage...
-
MK3 with the 2.0 ABA engine had a cable shift tranny (02a), the early 1.8 8v, MK3 engines were linkage, IDI diesels were linkage, VR6 were cable so were TDI.

1.9 AAZ engine = linkage

1.9 AAZ engine = linkage
Unless it's in a 93 and up Passat, in which case it may well have a cable... like my brother's AAZ-equipped 1994 Passat.
