Post by: turbosuzi on September 29, 2007, 09:20:00 am
I bought a pump timing kit and rebuilt pump on ebay. Installed the pump and Im ready to time the pump but then I realized that the dial indicator is in inches. does anyone have the in metric conversions for the dial?

Also I was going to advance the timing but forgot what the amount of advence is.

On the dial .032 would be at the 30 plus 2 ticks past. Correct?

depends on the guage markings     .. might only be 1 tick ( if 1 tick = 2 degrees)

On my dial it reads 1 tick as .001 in.

You might want to go .04 as that is 1.01mm which is in the range most people advance their timing to.

iirc the lower timing is retarded for emissions.  try for 0.039 or 0.040"
