Hey all. I just bought a wrecked passat that someone swapped a CY code 1.6TD into and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what years that engine came from, if it is a hyd engine, what turbo it has (trapezoidal turbo flange and couldnt "feel" any lettering on the compressor housing...didnt get a chance to rip hoses off to get a look). I have the Bently manual but it doesnt mention anything about the CY.
Thanks!

What does the head look like? One lump or two?

What/where are these lumps you speak of?...sorry but im a newb...maybe my head has one too many lumps in it :( :?

The lumps are two ridges running down the side of the head next to #2 injector IIRC. They are caused by the oil return holes. Early non hydraulic 'shimmed' heads only have one ridge...
There are pictures of this on various threads...
