Post by: Demons UK on September 16, 2007, 04:26:17 am
just fitted a boost controller but it seems to be 'dumping' alot of boost when i change, actually sounds like a dump vavle almost?

is this normal?

i've got the stick bov and wastegate so i think that might be why, its on a gtd 1.6

What do you have it set / regulated too?  Perhaps it is doing it's job and dumping out the wastgate?  In your post do you mean that you have disabled your wastegate?

I haven't touched the wastegate or BOV, so there blowing all my boost away at around 12psi?

Getting the boost controller tomorrow so will find out what i already know i expect, although the controller is set to ~15psi

any links/tips on how to remove the Waste gate or BOV?

and also should i increase my max fuel when i see what PSI I'm running at, the car doesn't seem to be smoking black at all when i rev now, if anything its blue/white =/

Yes, the stock BOV will go at 12 psi... if you search here and at www.vwdieselparts.com you will find discussions *and* pictures of various ways to defeat this valve.
