Title: Front Struts on 1980 Caddy

I am changing out the front struts on my 1980 caddy but I can't figure how to get the strut out of the strut housing. Any ideas?

The top of the strut housing should be threaded.  Will either be internal or external theads.  I used a big pair of channel locks on mine with the housing in a bench vise.
