Title: really dumb question about front license plates
Post by: larry104 on August 22, 2007, 01:40:03 pm
Ohio requires a front license plate, but my '92 Jetta was made in Germany and has no provision for one. I hate to just drill holes in the bumper to mount the plate, but I'm getting tired of the plate rattling around on the dash. I can make a bracket, but does anybody sell one? Anybody here make a custom one? I need some ideas. Thanks.

I wouldn't drill it.  Plus, I think a front licence plate DESTROYS the look of the front-end of a vehicle.  They still nabbed me when I had my Camaro for not having a front plate, and I had it on the dash!  I have not put a front plate on my Jeep ever since I bought it and have not got pulled over once.  Nor on my Scirocco, but it is not driven much.  If they tell me to put a front plate on my Scirocco I will tell them "thanks for the ticket and lick my balls!"

Stupid law anyway.  One time with my Camaro I was sitting there waiting for the cop to check my record and I saw a little old lady in a Taurus driving by with no front plate.  I bet she NEVER got pulled over for it.
