Hi Folks,

What should the idle be at for a stock 1994 Jetta TD?

Thanks,
Matt

IIRC its 950 rpm according to the manual, Once your pump is timed correct, you can feel the correct idle speed, when the residual and idling screw settings are spot on it will start by a bump of the starter.

In my Golf's case if I mess around with increasing the idling speed or the residual it becomes a pig to start

Great, thanks. Mine is a bit higher, around 1000. I know that my injectors are in rough shape though, so that might explain it...
Cheers,
Matt
