there is a link to the original thread and here is a diagram of how everything would be connected. i think everything is pretty self explanitory, the parts list would include 2 air solenoids, a bov, some wire, a button or switch of some kind (the original creator used an egr switch), and the relay shown in the middle is the basic relay that many people use to make there headlights brighter, very cheap and easy to find

I must ask WHY?
A BOV on a diesel just sounds stupid. Anyone who knows its a diesel and/or how diesels operate will just laugh at you when they hear it.

again, if you need help getting the sandy stick out of your butt, i'll be glad to help. although a bov is not necessary on a diesel, it doesn't hurt anything either, and it's more just for fun than anything else. alot of people ask about it so why not make a faq. not to mention this setup would be easy to turn on and off.

S1 activates the vacuum for the dump valve
S2 is the LDA mounted throttle switch
The pin out for the change over relay is as follows

For the vacuum source I replaced the check valve between the vacuum pump and the brake servo with one from a M TDi Passat with two take-offs, (one was sealed with a cap which I left on).
For the boost source I tapped into the pipe from the manifold to the LDA.
The throttle switch I sourced from a Passat M TDi with EGR.
I also sourced the solenoid valves from M TDI's with EGR.

I have a nissan terrano 2.7 TD with a BOV. If u don't like it, u never eard a beast leaving a smoke and a big noise behind and it ends with a big PSHHHHHHHH! :twisted: :twisted: But now, the SW1 part on the diagram is wrecked. What do u say about a piece to replace it ? I usually noticed before the piece gone wreck that that piece was very hot. Can u help? Thank you. Bye.

damn travy, how come you never told me about this site? BOV setup looks sick, but I need to talk to you about TD conversion soon before I make some purchases and/or mistakes. Keep up the good work man.

if a bov sounds cool @ 10 psi, i wonder how it sounds at 30+ psi? lol... sorta like the air brakes on big rigs?

ok sooo if you have no throttle valve how is it possible to have pressure trapped after you let off the throttle? i was under the impression that the bov was to let that pressure go so it didnt possiblly cause your turbo to backspool.....

ok.. i have a 2001 hyundai galloper 2.5 tdi and i want to put a bov for fun just for the sound but i dont know where vacum lines is .. i have a boost gauge and it only showme the boost and not the vacum.. i have hear that diesel engines dont produce vacum so where u guys found it or its only VW things??
there is a guy with a terrano that put a bov.. so ca u help me guys?

VW's have a vacuum pump near the rear of the engine for things like power brakes. I have heard that some Diesel alternators have vacuum pumps built onto them. I ended up taking it off, but I made one out of an external wastegate with a weakened spring and a 2 way solenoid valve. When energized, boost would go to the wastegate actuator, opening it. When not energized, the wastegate actuator was ported to the atmosphere. So you can do it without vacuum.

yeah but my problem is that i have a internal wastegate... but one question.. if a found any vacuum line, can i conect the bov to that line or its has to be one in specific??... and can you help me to identify which could be the vacuum lines???

ok i found a vacuum line that drives to the power brakes.. and there is a line that go to the diesel pump throttle with a solenoid i think it activates when you turn on de engine.... but i have another question.. does it need to have throttle plate to make the blow off sound??
