Title: Mk2 1z swap
Post by: mk21ztdi89 on March 23, 2017, 09:28:08 pm
Recently bought a very clean very nicely done Wolfsburg jetta with a 1z in it. Everything is perfect you would think it was factory minus the side pipe lol. The only thing is the accelerator, when starting out in first gear if I press it a certain way it stops or gets stuck at 1200 rpm. Only thing I can do is let off completely and 're press the accelerator. It doesn't happen shifting through the gears nor every time I start in first gear. Just curious if anyone knows what would cause this or how to fix it or if it's a byproduct of a certain pedal swap? Thank you in advance.

I believe the ECU will do that if it thinks the brakes are applied. Might want to take a look at the brake switches to see how they were rigged up - the TDI used two separate ones while the Mk2 only had one. Depending how the swap was done that might have been left out.

It's been done basically the way one would want the mk3 kbeam and rack up front with mk3 big brakes and the back is mk4 calipers. Thanks again for the info will look into that
