I recently got my rabbit running after it had been sitting for like 10 years. we took it out on the road to see what else was wrong. we were gettin' it in the 4th gear (aka e) then just looked at the hill and had to downshift. once we hit it i dropped a gear and barely maintained speed in 2nd. so much for those 12 min. runs to school lol i intend to take on the hill again  (with a heavilly modded pump 8) )

Turn up the fuel and open your intake and exhaust and MASH it till you feel scared........
well do go nut's but, I usually have to be in 2nd to climb the hill, but can rip up it np, because I'm at about 2500 rpm...... Good old turbo......
-
my b3 passat aaz accelerates in 4th gear up a local steep hill. :D love long strokes and baby turbos!!
-
i never had trouble making it up hills in my na or my turbo version, even my automatic diesel rabbit holds speed and slowly accelerates up steep hills
-
I LMAO just reading the title of this post! I could post a few such as "Rabbit vs. Falling tree" or "Rabbit vs. Rodent infestation"
-
Rabbit vs. rodent infestation? i think that problem was taken care of before i got mine.
-
rabbit vs rodent infestation...
lol sounds to me like the rabbit off of monty python the quest for the holy grail... hahaha no ordinary rabbit for sure!!! KILLL
either that... or a rabbit driving through a nest of rodents... lol
-
i found a couple dead mice in my jetta and it smells like there might be one or 2 in my rabbit lol
-
A modified pump wasn"t needed. That old timing belt must have been stretched that bad or something, that it was that far out of time. I hit the hill again after the new belt and accelerated slowly in third. 8)

get a turbo
-
hehe yea turbo's are pretty damn awesome :)

Giles built an N/A pump for his shop's delivery rabbit that single-handedly increased output by 22 HP at the wheels. Same power as a 1.7L gas rabbit, but more torque!
-
diesel torque is a great thing!

I can live with that...we all have a different view of our ride. I consider mine that beautiful girl next door who, when you get to know her, has a dirty secret.

Beauty is all in the eye of the beholder.

I love those kinds of neighbours. And I really like the way you think.
