Title: 1980 VW Rabbit diesel electrical problems
Post by: 1rayman1 on April 10, 2008, 05:31:00 pm
I recently bought this vehicle with only 90,000 original miles. upon buying I had to have some fuel line leaks fixed and glow plugs replaced. It is now starting and running well. However I am having numerous electrical problems. The ignition does not work and i have dead leads all over the vehicle. Certain tail lights, head lights, alternator, ect. Is it possible there is a short in the ignition or start with the fuse box. The previous owner said they replaced it but it was sitting with no corner window on drivers side for months. The car ran when i bought it. but now that it starts well it is shorting out dying while i am driving down the road. probably too much info but please help if possible im hoping to get a good running engine on the road.
