Hey,
Tonight I will be starting my cylinder head rebuild. The engine is an AHU TDI.
I was just wondering if there were any cheap mods I should be doing while I have the head apart. Im planning on cleaning up the intake and exhaust ports, but aside from that Im just planning to inspect the head, lap the valves, install new seals and call it a day. Obviously I will also be checking it thoroughly for warpage and visually for cracks.
The kicker is Im planning to use the PD150 (with reliefs) pistons. Now IF i need to have the head milled a little, is there a maximum safe amount? I know this could vary if the head has been milled before but I think this motor's a virgin.
Any input on this job would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
