Title: Review: KCD Poly Upper rear engine mount
Post by: Cheesetoast on May 18, 2004, 12:23:32 am
ok, this thing worked fine in my 96 gti vr6, no excessive vibrations.  Put it in my td today, wholey hell, my car has developed parkinsons.  NOT RECOMMENDED.  The vibrations are so bad i'm affraid to drive the car,  i'm gonna pick up a new OEM mount and be done with it.

I am also trying to figure out the diesel heavy-duty motor mount issue but on the A1 platform.  Posting the results in this thread: http://www.vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=20

One thing definitely seems clear, diesels vibrate differently than gas motors do!
Title: engine mount control

If I were worried about controlling engine rock, I'd put a couple doublers on the firewall  (or some other suitable location) and mount one of those lil baby shock absorbers that GM's use. (gag! american retrofits!)
