Title: Broken timing belt

Just wondering if I should tear this engine down or start looking for one. Its for a customer.

pull head off, check piston protrusion (bent rods)

Disassemble head, see if its usable or not,

go from there.
90% of the time the bottom end is ok, but they like to squich lifters into the head and they suck to remove.

yeah take the head off and disassemble. People on the TDIclub like to a user by the name of Franko6 for their TDI head rebuilds

www.boraparts.com has a $1,000 head replacement program too.
