Title: 1.4Tdi Engine fitment?
Post by: Bugsy_malone 666 on July 06, 2015, 05:30:41 pm
So I was wondering a bit about the 1.4Tdi engine, apparently they are classed as PD engines. I was trying to find out how the 1.4Tdi engine compares fitment wise to other polo/golf engines?

I am looking at fitting it in something else with an adaptor plate and was wondering if the 1.4TDi is a polo engine or a golf engine. Someone mentioned  somewhere else that the engine is actually a cut down 1.9PD tdi meaning essentially its the same PD1.9TDi.

I am wondering if the 1.9Tdi PD is the same bell housing pattern as other pre2000 4 cylinder like the older 1.9diesles and stuff?

Trying to see if PD engines will fit in my camper with the current adaptor plate I have or if a different one would be required, but really interested in going down the 1.4tdi route.
