Which ones are best as far as made by the factory (TD, 16V, etc) including year and if they are interchangeable across all MK2 Jettas or if there is an aftermarket brand that is way better?
-
I don't think there is any difference except the later hubs have a different diameter than the earlier mk2 so the hub won't work with the other stuff unless it matches, I think the change was around '87 or '88. The later GTI/GLI 16V have a different brake setup that is honestly a lot better and is the same as mk3 with a 2.0. But that's the spindle that's different, if you're just talking about the hub it's the same as the other cars from that year.

Right, '88 and on had larger spindle bearing and larger ball joint shaft.

the EARLY hubs with the small bearings are MUCH BETTER, and the bearings last like 7x longer!!
the mk2 GLI/GTI brakes ARE NOT the same as a mk3/2.0..... they look the same, and are REALLY CLOSE, but are different..
