Title: AHU available exh. manifolds?
Post by: BGA on April 17, 2017, 12:51:27 pm
On my AHU motor, exhaust manifold face is pointing
45 degrees uppwards. To make a simple turbo installation (2052) I want the face to point  aprox. 45 degrees downwards. Does this design exist? If yes what cars ( motors) shoud I look for?

2005 Passat TDI. Can't remember the engine code - that's what I'm running. It points almost exactly where you are describing.

You can, of course, flip the manifold you have over too. The exhaust ports are symmetrical.

The ports are symmetrical, but the stock trapezoidal manifold is not symmetrical.  It can certainly be flipped, but it takes a fair amount of grinding for it to clear the intake manifold around the intake manifold bolts.

Dumb question from me, sorry. When I saw the ports and their bolt holes was i little offset my reaction was i canīt flipp it. After a night with bad sleeping I found I was wrong, but I was away and had no computer to stop my question.
Sorry.
