Title: GTI Oil Cooler
Post by: rodpaslow on April 06, 2011, 11:56:31 am
I've bought a stock older vw oil cooler.  It basically is an older GTI style and I think whoever used it last assembled it wrong.  Does anyone have picture of an exploded view or something like that so I can be sure it's going back together correctly?

It has a round cylinder in it that's held by a spring and it looks like a wax or liquid that pushes on a pin so when it gets hot it opens.  My question is does the spring push against the end part that hold the temperature proble? (basically the end plate).   Any help is much appreciated!!
