Title: 06 beetle not getting fuel
Post by: trkenn on October 04, 2022, 06:21:28 pm
I can not find a lot of information on the problem with my beetle, I changed the timing belt and water pump and fuel filter, now it wont start, I pulled the fuel line off the filter and nothing is pumping, I can not find out if this thing even has a fuel pump, one place says yes another says no its an injection pump, one thing says air in the line another says no its self purging. I just want some straight answers so I can fix the dern thing. Any help is appreciated.

It has a HPFP. High Pressure Fuel Pump... Engine code BRM.

Generally you have to cycle the fuel pump with a Vag-Com. Some folks have had luck with not priming it, but most of the time not.
If you don't have one (VagCom), see if you can find anyone that does.

You can also try to fill the fuel filter with diesel fuel and see if it will take off that way.

fuel filter is filled. could you explain how this vagcom turns the pump on? I dont even hear it running and have taken the fuel lines off the filter, I would think i should at least get fuel coming out of the line.
