Title: Mk1 AHU M-TDI swap fuel pump question!

Hey guys, coming to you with another question regarding my AHU TDI swap into my Mk1 Golf.

I ordered a 300tdi Range Rover pump from the UK. When it got here, I found that the pulley off the AHU fuel pump didn't work with the 300tdi pump so I ordered an ALH pulley. Upon its arrival, I found that it also does not quite work with the adapter that is on the 300tdi pump. The bolt holes don't quote line up (pictures attached)

My question for you guys is- what are my options here? I could take the adapter off of an ALH fuel pump, though I don't know if I can buy that separately from buying an entire pump. Anybody know where I could get one or where I could search for one?

I'm also wondering if I could just redrill the 300tdi adapter. Anybody have any input on that?

Also, maybe I haven't done the appropriate research - is there any way to make the pulley off the AHU pump work?

I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Keeping the larger diameter drive on the 300 LR pump is the best way to go.  I had a AAZ 1.9 pump on that I transferred all the LR parts into and used the older style 17mm shaft & pulley and then it's pretty much a bolt on (doesn't have a lot of miles on it yet).  But I will be doing exactly what you are suggesting as I just bought a ALH and I have a 300 LR pump that I will be fitting onto the ALH.   I assumed you just had to machine the adapter on the pump and/or pulley just for line-up for the timing belt.   There are posts on here that I will be reviewing as I know others have done it.

If you remove the LR hub, the AHU sprocket will work.  If you go that route, the pump mounting holes will need to be slotted for timing adjustment.  The ALH hub will also work and is my distinct preference.  You can lock the LR shaft at the correct timing using the side bolt and install the ALH hub appropriately. 

New Chinese made knockoff ALH hubs are available from Hans for $25.  I haven't used one myself so I cannot comment on whether or not they will fail and ruin your engine.  Robbing a hub from an ALH pump is the other way to go.

That $25 hub is quite tempting...

Do you know if it's possible to get an OEM ALH hub separate from buying an entire pump? I can't see to find one online.

I got my OEM VW Hub for about $20. Just post a want ad over on TDIclub...

Hey man, an update. I ordered the Hans hub. It did not fit perfectly with the pulley, but I ground the pulley a bit till it fit. It seems to be of decent quality, and the swap is done and running now.
