Title: AAZ swap into mk2 jetta
Post by: Hiacoboni on May 27, 2017, 02:53:59 pm
I already have the AAZ bolted in to the car but am starting to question a few things. This is my first engine swap by myself and I am honestly stuck. Has anyone completed one of these swaps without a problem?

I have the trans bolted up and the gear linkage all re-attached but looking st all my left over hoses and such that are sitting don't look like they will match back up like I was told they were.

Just throwing out a lifeline to see if anyone has any suggestions.

What specifically are you stuck on? What was the factory engine in the car?

I've swapped an AHU in place of a 1.6TD before personally. Everything should be good to go though some of the flanges may be minorly different.

it had a 1.6na in it before. I have everything hooked up cv joints all motor mount bolted etc...

It's now a matter of just figuring out the wiring because from what I was told when I bought the car was that it had a mk1 1.6na in it and the wiring is completely hacked. Also the engine when I bought it has all the lines cut instead of removed and looking back and forth a lot of the lines seem to not be able to fit. Power steering line isn't right balancer looks to be hitting the inside right body of the car.

I've done all the I feel like I know how to do. But I'm down to plumbing the lines and figuring out the wiring harness from the car to the motor and I haven't found a schematic that is actually helpful.

I could see the steering being different for sure.

You would probably do well to shoot some photos of the things you have questions about and post them here.
