Title: Fuel filter on 05 TDI
Post by: drivesalot on May 03, 2008, 04:49:34 pm
I replaced the fuel filter on my 05 Jetta TDI as I have done many times, but did not suck fuel through the new filter completely. I started it and it ran rough, then died. It cranked and cranked but did not start afterwards. I removed the fuel return hose from the engine side, and clamped the return hose to the filter, and used a Mighty Vac to suck fuel through the engine fuel lines. There was fuel in the line, but still no start. Any ideas? Thanks.

It will start eventually. The pd's are self priming. It might take several cranking cycles.
