So I just bought a 97 passat and it has no gauges, they're all dead at the moment so in the mean time before I fix the dash I was planning on using a wireless obd scanner and a cheap phone or tablet mounted on the dash for gauges and well all around handyness of those wireless scanners. Has anyone used this set up? If so any recommendations on what phone/tablet I should look for. My buddy used something like I'm going for in his truck when we went on trips but he can't remember what exactly he had. Thanks all
