do mechanical pumps fit on mk4 motors?

You need to more specific to which engines you mean. It could be a regular TDI or a PD. find your engine code first. If it's a TDI then a hybrid mechanical pump can be fitted.

i meant a regular tdi, i thought it was obvious you couldn't do it to a pd.

nah i was asking for someone else, i'm an idi guy haha.  maybe i'll give it a shot for my next build tho.
