I have a stock turbo downpipe from my 94 Golf that I replaced with one that I made from 2.5" stainless steel. It bolts up to a T-2 turbo, I believe. It is still in pretty good condition (some surface rust in some places), the flex section is good as well. I was going to throw it out but Dr. Diesel said it was worth something. I have pictures if anyone wants to take a look.

Will this fit an A2?

I don't really know. I remember Dr. Diesel telling me that it was an upgrade for A1 and A2 engines, but I'm not certain. Ask Dr. Diesel, he will know most likely.

Argh!
Where was this about 2 months ago.
A new VW one is about $600 and aftermarket $350.
I had to buy one for my 95.

I slammed one of these units into my K24 A2. Direct fit. nice piece.
They've been sucessfully modded to work in A1's too.

I got this kind of downpipe from a Golf 1.9TD '94 in my Jetta 90 (i got the whole 1.9TD into my Jetta 90), direct fit including the cat and the resonator.
I put the whole exaust pipe from the downpipe to the resonator on my Jetta and without rear muffler, my Jetta have a great soud :)
The Plus, the Garrett T2 doesn't make any turbo sound, with or without muffler, so when someone listen to me dragging, is toughting that is a non turbo engine, but when the gaz car sit behind me, humm, is going in the smoke rear me when i'm shingting the 2nd speed
So, I'm waiting for a Volvo 850 FMIC to put on the front of my baby, it will be a 15psi intake presure with the maximum fuel delivery until she smoke a the 3/4 of the fuel pedal course.
Have fun with your baby :D
