I have a hole in my boost hose - the short elbow that connects the turbo to the intake. 1.6TD with T3. What is the best source or method for a replacement or repair?

Look to make sure it is for the T3 they have several different ones available.

That's the one, and that's pretty much the only source I found. I'm curious as to what others may be doing or about any other options.

Spendy, yes but it is THE ONE to get. You might have luck finding someone parting out an engine that would sell you the hose but the condition might be less than what you need. I decided if I was going to depend on the increased airflow into the metal parts I would cough up the coin for the new hoses. Nice Silicone from them too.

Go into your Friendly Local Auto Parts Store (FLAPS) and ask to browse through the radiator hose selection. Find one that closely matches your needs and cut to suit. You may need to use part of your old hose as an adapter ring to get to the proper size on the small end. Definitely use T-bolt clamps to insure it doesn't blow off. The only issue I can see with that is that the ID of the hose may not be compatible with oil (but my guess is it would be). Clean wraps of high temp self-sealing silicon tape is working for now. Just sent my daughter off to college, so trying to hold onto my pennies.

You can probably measure the two connections and get an angled silicone coupler that will work for less $ than the stock hose.
My daughter starts college next week. She has a full tuition scholarship and will be living at home, though, so there is no financial crunch from it. I feel blessed.

My girl got the majority of her college covered, thank God! Still, pennies gotta be pinched! And, on top of that, I get a lot of satisfaction keeping my rig in top shape with just my wits and a prayer... fixing instead of replacing, you know?
