Title: Spring Cleaning and New Wheels
Post by: ORCoaster on April 23, 2012, 10:15:28 pm
Finally got the 13's on it but seems a little low in the rear.  Nothing a spacer won't cure.  Or Air Shocks.  Might be the ticket as WVO tank going in will be weighty.

I knew I would hear from you on that.  It doesn't have a turbo so it is working on developing other glands as it doesn't have the big Khann...   aaas.

I did pop it off to check for paint rub as you thought.  So far so good, nothing wearing away.  I did wash off a ton of spring pollen buried under it though.

Comes off at wash time, two clips under the hood in back and the one up front across the front of the grill area.  Then the whole thing slides off like a slipper.  Takes about 15 seconds to off or on.  Am working on the aerodynamics of it too.  I had the front strap a bit loose and at 70, dare I admit those speeds on Hwy 101 to the State Police?  At that rate there is an air current eddy set up against the front windshield that pushed the whole bra up in a cup shape, duh?  And I got to thinking that is the natural airflow as it is in balance with it self or with just a bit of air pressure from underneath.

So I am experimenting with foam to simulate that rounded shape to see if the mist off the trucks blows any differently over the car now.  Actually a pretty good test but I need to keep Rain X on the windshield, the wipers on and one eye on the truck tires as I watch the mist pattern fly about the car.  Time is running out on that score as we will see summer weather soon, or will we?
